# Crafting recipes

> Materials, bench requirements, attributes and mastery for all three recipes.

There are three recipes. Each recipe makes one item per unit of quantity. You can craft **1–20 units in one batch** if you meet all requirements and have enough materials and carry space.

## Materials and costs

There is **no direct crafting fee**. The totals below are calculated from shop prices for one item's materials; they are not extra charges or resale prices.

| Result | Materials per item | Material purchase total | Minimum time per item | XP per item |
| - | - | -: | -: | -: |
| Toolkit | 2 Parts, 1 Wood | \$75 | 5 seconds | 10 |
| Pistol | 4 Parts, 1 Electronics | \$170 | 8 seconds | 15 |
| Rifle | 8 Parts, 2 Electronics | \$340 | 12 seconds | 20 |

Buy Parts (\$30) and Wood (\$15) at Industrial supplies, and Electronics (\$50) at the Convenience store. Material requirements, minimum time and XP multiply by batch quantity. The assembly interaction must also finish, so these times are not guaranteed completion times.

## Locations and unlocks

Crafting XP is your total from completed crafts. Mastery is the XP earned by crafting a particular recipe. The same completed craft grants both its total XP and its recipe's mastery XP.

| Recipe | Location | Total crafting XP required | Dexterity | Strength | Prior recipe mastery required |
| - | - | -: | -: | -: | - |
| Toolkit | Public Workshop or your own house bench | 0 | 1 | 0 | None |
| Pistol | Your own house bench | 20 | 2 | 0 | Toolkit mastery 20 |
| Rifle | Your own house bench | 100 | 5 | 0 | Pistol mastery 60 |

Starting from no crafting progress, two Toolkits give 20 total XP and 20 Toolkit mastery, satisfying the Pistol XP/mastery requirements. Four Pistols give 60 Pistol mastery; if those two Toolkits are your only other crafts, you then have 80 total XP and still need 20 more before crafting a Rifle. Attribute and location requirements must also be met.

Genetic points are separate from XP. Allocations are permanent, and there is a five-point total cap. A character needs all five in Dexterity to craft Rifles; spending any on Strength prevents meeting that requirement in this build.

## Craft a batch

**1. Bring materials to a bench**

Carry the materials and approach the public Workshop or your own house bench.

**2. Choose a recipe**

Select an item in **Recipes**. Its details show the required materials beside the amounts you have available; materials listed for sale are unavailable. On a smaller screen, select a recipe to open its details and use **Recipes** to return to the list.

**3. Review your batch**

Use the quantity controls or type a quantity. Material totals, minimum time and XP update for your batch. The recipe shows its XP and Dexterity requirements; expand **Progression** for current XP, recipe mastery and prior-recipe requirements. Unavailable recipes explain what is missing.

**4. Choose your batch**

Choose **Craft** and confirm if making more than one item.

**5. Assemble three pieces**

Drag the highlighted component onto its matching blueprint outline. You can also select the component, then click or tap its outline. Place three components total. On a controller, press **A** on the focused piece, then **A** on the focused location. Stay nearby and alive until production finishes; batch quantities keep their full production time.

**6. Finish the whole batch**

The whole batch completes together: materials are consumed, finished items are added and XP is awarded.

Cancellation or moving away before completion produces no partial batch and consumes no recipe materials. Unlist materials reserved for sale before using them. Also remove listings of the item you are about to craft. Carry space is checked for the finished batch after its materials are used.
